DAVID BUZGAU

Born in Arad, on April the 04th 1980, began his vocal training at the early age of 15 at The School of Arts in Arad. Then he continued his vocal studies at the George Dima Conservatory in Cluj-Napoca, where he has passed the degree with honors. In 2008 he completed his studies with  a Belcanto Master Degree at The Transilvania University in Brasov with soprana Mariana Nicolesco.
At the same time he followed the Summer  Opera Classes in Tel-Aviv(2003) run by Joan Dornemann, assistant conductor at the Met Opera. He also followed the Summer  Opera Classes in Chiari,Milano(2006), run by tenor William Woodruff. He worked with Ioana Ungureanu, Alexandru Farcas, Theodore Coressi, Mariana Nicolesco, Ion Buzea, Ionel Pantea, Mignon Dunn, etc. He participated at different national and international competitions, where he won prizes such as The Prize of the Jury in The International Lied Competition in Kronstadt (Brasov,2006) or The Prize of  the Composers' Union in The International Lied Competition in Kronstadt (Brasov,2007). He has performed in many concerts such as: The Christmas Byzantinium Oratory by Paul Constantinescu in Hermanstadt, Kroenungsmesse by Mozart,  Mozart's Requiem in Spain, Theresienmesse by Haydn etc.

               In 2001 he made his debut with Papageno in The Magic Flute in Cluj-Napoca Operahouse. Since then he  performed many roles such as  Allazim in Zaide, Belcore in L'Elisir D'Amore, Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Valentin in Faust , Betto di Signa in Gianni Schicchi, Brander in Faust, Marquis D'Obigny in La Traviatta, Silvano in   Un Ballo in Maschera, Morales and Zuniga in Carmen,  Fiorello in Barbiere di Siviglia, Mister Smith in La Cantatrice Chauve, Don Giovanni in The Secret of Don Giovanni,  etc.
